Both these tiny herds wander along, grazing like microscopic antelope. Of course, where we find prey we find predators. Those mites are keeping out of the way of predator mites out to eat them, and everybody is on the lookout for the roundworms.
Roundworms are everywhere. They are under your feet and out in the Arctic ice. They are in Iraq and Chile and Middleburg. If everything else except roundworms were to suddenly vaporize, the earth’s surface could still be seen as a solid sheet of roundworms.
