Working with t - ' * the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office, which is responsible for dispatching fire and rescue companies as well as law enforcement operations, the Fire Levy Board, and the board of supervisors, the association provides centralized leadership and management for the organizationally independent fire and rescue companies. Each of the companies is governed by its own set of by-laws and sends three delegates, plus three alternates, to represent it at the association level.
None of the motions passed by the association are formally binding on its members, but in practice, the companies all cooperate for their common good.
