Mountain, will pay $25 to any employee who can “stay smokeless” for six months.
In addition, Faith Mountain employees can sponsor non-employee smokers in the Smokeout. These Faith Mountain “friends” will sign a pledge and receive a survival kit as well as brochures from the American Cancer Society about smoking and how to quit. " Leslie Nichols and Cathie Martin, co-coordinators of the event, hope to have about 25 participants in the Smokeout. “It isn’t going to be a day to pick on smokers,” says Nichols. “We are trying to make it a fun, supportive company-wide activity, designed for those folks who want to quit, but aren’t sure where to start. We would like to have as many people as possible give it a try. Each year 419,000 people die from a smoking-related disease. Quitting smoking is the best thing you could ever do for yourself.”
