On Nov. 20 the American Cancer Society will sponsor the 21st Great American Smokeout. Faith Mountain is setting a precedent for all businesses in Rappahannock County by hosting a Smokeout for the first time.
The Great American Smokeout is an opportunity to voluntarily give up smoking for one day, which can be a first step toward quitting forever. Forty-six million Americans have already quit smoking.
Faith Mountain employees who choose to participate will sign a Smokeout pledge to not smoke for the day. For those employees the company will provide snacks and other alternatives to smoking as well as rewards for getting through 24 hours without smoking. “Survival kits” will be available from the American Cancer Society.
