Now in its 20th year the Child Care and Learning Center, in Rappahannock, is going to hold a fall celebration on Saturday, Nov. 8.
The event, which will be held at the Washington School on Mount Salem Ave., will feature a country auction and party and will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. the live auction begins at 8 p.m.
Up for auction will be items such as folk art, antiques, collectibles, vintage and decorative items, and original art. Many of these have been donated by local antique dealers, decorators and even the owners of The Inn at Little Washington.
The admission price is $10 per person and includes food and beverages. The proceeds will benefit the center and help it to continue its work.
The center provides full time year-round care for children three weeks to 13 years. It is the only accredited (by National Association for the Education of Young Children) center in a 10 county area.
It is the only school-aged child care program in the county that provides an after school day care program, the After School Club.
It also has the only Head Start class on the East Coast located in a private preschool setting. It serves as a model for public and private partnership.
