Fall festival dinner set
The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad is sponsoring its annual Fall festival dinner on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Rappahannock Elementary School. Come early, stay late, bring a date and have a feast of roast turkey, dressing, mash potatoes, gravy, peas, garden salad, homemade biscuits and a variety of desserts and beverages. Prices are adults $8 and children eight and under $4. The meal will be prepared by Pat Jenkins and Company.
Shots offered at Viewtown
The Rappahannock Health Department will be offering flu and pneumonia shots at Viewtown General Store Friday, Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information call John or Margaret Wiese, 937-3249.
Healing Arts activities
Weekly Life Enrichment series will continue Oct. 30 with Creating a Positive Future Using Self-Hypnosis. “Change is the one sure thing in life. As we grow, we are changed by circumstances and conscious and unconscious choices. Our mental images, beliefs and thoughts give form to our future. Become aware of the messages you encounter daily. Learn to use positive self-talk to break free of old thought patterns. Use simple self-hypnosis techniques to transform your life,” said Carol Lucking MS, who will conduct the 7 to 9 p.m. series. On Nov. 6 the series continues with Mind/Body Medicine.
Once-a-month Fall series “Sharing and Caring” facilitated by Carol Lucking, MS on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. The next meeting is Nov. 12 with the topic, Build a Healthy Immune System.

Estate planning scheduled
The Rappahannock Farmers Association will sponsor an estate planning seminar on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock High School. The program will focus on scenic easements. For more information call 675-3444.
Country auction, party planned
The Child Care and Learning Center will present their annual fall celebration featuring a country auction and party on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Washington School on Mount Salem Avenue in Washington. There is a $10 entry fee per person which entitles you to food, drink, fun, live and silent auction and tag sale, which includes furniture, rugs, folk art, vintage collectibles. The proceeds will benefit the CCLC Scholarship fund. For additional information call Susan McCarthy at 675-1101.
Video-discussion set
The public is invited to view a videotaped interview with Gabrille Roth, internationally acclaimed artist, healer, and trance-dancer on Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Iris Centre in Washington. There is a $5 admission fee and to reserve a seat call 675-3003.
