Everybody wants to win. David Gibbs to say ‘We’re gonna build a race car.’ And I said ‘Yeah, I’m going to do it to,” he said with a chuckle. He is planning to build a new race car in the off season, retiring his Buick Regal — #97 painted on the doors and roof— with its powerful Chevy 355 c.c. engine. During racing season, Gibbs had been meticulous about maintaining the car, weighing it as many as seven times a day to ensure it is properly balanced for correct handling. See GIBBS, Page 5
