Too bad you people who want to eliminate modernization did not live in the era described above! There are still places here in the U.S., and in other countries, where one can experience the conditions described above. I know as I have been there, both here and in foreign countries!
I am sending along a few of the new ways versus the old ways: electric power versus coal oil lamps; electric cooking and heating versus wood cut with a cross cut saw; power equipment (farming) versus horse or mule drawn; running water versus springs at the bottom of a hill (sometimes wells); bathrooms versus outhouses; school buses at the door versus walk two miles to school.
I would think if one doesn’t care for paved roads then you have already gone back to the old ways listed above plus those not listed.
In this wonderful country we are so blessed, first of all to be free. I, along with millions of others, fought to keep this country free and would do it all over again if my country asked me to.
My neighbors and I are doing what we can to get our road black topped. I would not take it away from those on Route 621 who want.the same.
Just hope we are next!
