The application by Jonathan S. Monroe for a special use permit to locate the Monroe and Crocker Professional Office in the old Huntly Post Office was granted last week by the Rappahannock Board of Zoning Appeals.
Monroe and his wife have been operating their architectural business out of their home since 1989. The business has grown to the extent that they need to move it to a separate location and the old Huntly Post Office is only a few miles from their home and its past use was as a commercial property.
They plan no major changes to the building or property, preferring its simplicity, he said.
