Editor’s note:

During the month of May, the Rappahannock News will feature a fourpart series on alcoholism; the nature of the disease, individual case studies, co-alcoholics and treatment.

Our choice of alcoholism as a topic during mental health month is intended to call attention to this major mental health problem of our time and to provide, perhaps, some hope to those who suffer in silence front this disease. We hope also to recognize the excellent work being done by the Rappahannock Mental Health Cli>iic and in particular, to thank our advisors for this series, Lee Nettles and Bob T realtor.

In the second part of the series two local men describe their struggle with alcoholism. Their names have been changed.
