Eugene Grigsby was Mr.-Do-It-All for RCHS on Saturday, taking first places in the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes and in the long jump. He added a second place medal to his haul for his part in the 800 meter relay. Rapp’s foursome of Grigsby, Michael Starks, Larry Sisk and Wayne Woodward finished in 1:36.2, less than two seconds behind the winners.

Doyle Dunn was tops in the district in the high jump, clearing 6’3”, and followed up that bit of high flying with a leap of 397” in the triple jump for third.

After leading the entire race, Scott Keithlev was literally nosed out in the final stride of the mile run, taking second in 4:40.6 behind Else Dougan of Manassas Park who broke the tape in 4:40.4. It was Keithley’s fastest time of the year at the distance.
