All of us got to see the Capitol building, Governor’s Palace, magazine, PowellWaller House, the jail, and Bruton Parish Church. Each group got to see some of the following places: Raleigh Tavern, bakery, silversmith, brass forge, basketmaker, weaver, spinner, windmill, wheelwright, gunsmith, instrument maker, and College of William and Mary Wren Building.
The Governor’s Palace was the best part of the tour for me. We had participation from our group which made it even more fun. I was to be the mayor who led our delegation asking the governot to meet with us. But he wasn’t home, so one of his clerks accepted our petition.
Our guide taught us how to bow and curtsey when we were greeted. When we went into the dining room, we were treated like servants by a costumed butler. He practically ran the
