First In Tourney
Last Saturday, the boys from Sperryville captured first place honors in Fauquier’s fast pitch le.igue tournament. In double elimination play, the Brewers downed Smith Cattleguard, 4-2, and the Marshall Wolves, 11-1.
Semi-finals brought a rematch with Smith Cattleguard that the Brewers lost, 7-5, in the bottom top of the 11th inning. But the Sperryville nine avenged the defeat in the final, downing Smith 4-0 for the championship trophy.
