“One of my favorite parts of sewing is solving difficult design and construction problems,” Oorinne said about the skill that takes her out of the ranks of an ordinary seamstress. “I love looking at a design and figuring out how to do it.”

DeKirosso has standard patterns that she transfers to newspapers and alters according to what is needed.

“Often I think about a problem overnight and wake up with a solution,” she said.
