The sixth annual “Fairfax Follies”, a gay nineties vaudeville variety show with skits, jokes, singing, and dancing, will be held at Lord Fairfax Community College'in Middletown on May 14 and 15 at 8 p.m.
Preshow activities will begin at 0:20 p.m. and will include a barbershop quarter, cakewalk, puppet show, clow ns, horseshoe throw and many other attractions.
The favorite event of the preshow is the serving of free homemade ice cream. Hot dogs, popcorn, and drinks are also available at old fashioned prices. This event is sponsored by the Drama Club at Lord Fairfax and is free and open to the public.
Warrenton Festival
The 5th Annual Old Town Warrenton Spring Festival will be held on Main Street in Warrenton Saturday, May 21 from 9 to 4.
The festival will include over 180 craftspeople displaying for exhibit and sale such homemade crafts as jewelry, quilts, pottery, wood carvings, leather goods and ceramics. The wide range of activities planned for the day includes music by the U.S. Navy Hand, Country Current, and the Free State Ramblers as well as pony rides, a petting zoo, and a pie eating contest.
A variety of food and drink will be available and admission is free.
