The mile relay contingent of Tupper, Oliver, Walker and Kelly Bristol ran their best time of the season—4:39.8—for third, just missing a qualifying second place by five seconds.
In the shot put, all three Rappahannock throwers qualified for. regional championships. Cindy Weaver was third (30’0”), Marie Davis fifth (28’K)1/-”) and Donna Williams sixth (28’5V>"). “It sure was nice seeing all three Rappahannock girls win their medals in one event,” Speiker noted.
Weaver threw the discus short of her usual distance but far enough for second place and Davis continued to add inches with her fourth place toss.
