Kramer read the ordinance .to council and 11 residents who attended the hearing. The ordinance would ban helicopter landings in town and prohibit such flights within 300 feet above town. Violations, except in emergency situations, would be considered a misdemeanor and carry a $1,000 fine and a maximum 30-day jail term, according to the proposed ordinance.
Also, property owners who allow their land to be used for helicopter landings could be fined up to $300 and jailed up to 30 days.
