Baskets featured at Worthy Gallery The baskets of Rappahannock weavers Jeanne Drevas, Janet Kerig and Catherine Kiley will be featured at the Worthy Gallery in Washington, D.C. from Sept. 28 through Nov. 30. The three live and work in Rappahannock. Each brings a unique vision to her work with trees, roots, vines and natural fibers. Their baskets are sculptural and functional in form, subtle in coloring and distinctive in design. Basket weaving workshops will be offered. A reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 28.

Rock ’n roll dance A rock ’n roll dance will be held at RCHS on Oct. 4 from 8 to 11 p.m. The dance is sponsored by the high school Booster Club. All students are invited to come and bring their favorite cassette tapes and/or records. Several local teenage disc jockeys will play the songs. Look for more information to be in the newspaper soon. Mark your calendars now!

Family reunion scheduled The annual reunion of the Poles, Timbers, Gatewood and Starks families will be held at the home of Vivian Gatewood near Washington on Oct. 12 beginning at noon. All relatives and friends planning to attend should call 987-8948.

Burke family reunion The annual reunion of the late Brueand Atba Burke families will be held on Sept. 22 at the Rappahannock Recreaitioii Park on Route 211 near Washington. All relatives and friends aye invited to come and bring a covered dish. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Karate The Child Care and Learning Center is offering Karate classes by Arthur Drago for eight consecutive weeks beginning Oct. 2 from 3:305:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Annual harvest dinner The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary to the Fire Department will have its annual harvest dinner on Oct. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. Crab feast A crab feast will be held on Sept. 21 at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises on Route 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. The $10 per person price includes all of the hard shell crabs, hot dogs, baked beans and cole slaw that each person can eat. Children under 12 can eat at half price and beverages are included. The proceeds will benefit the Culpeper Exchange Club’s community projects. Call 937-5146 for advance ticket information.
