Club members
catch ‘butterflies’
Members of the Rappahannock County Garden Club heard a presentation entitled “Butterflies” at their Aug. 21 meeting held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Holschuh.
Making the presentation was Mrs. William Wetsel of the Madison Garden Club and preservation chairman of the Butterfly Committee of Virginia.
Club members also heard reports from Gina Man waring and Christie Pendleton who returned from their trip to summer nature camp at Vesuvius. The local students were sponsored by the Rappahannock County Garden Club.
Ribbons, from the first-place blue ribbon to (in some divisions) fourth-place white, were presented to winners in the class for a herb arrangement in a glass container. Mrs. Joseph Nordone, Mrs. Charles Russell, Mrs. W. R. Williamson, Mrs. Maurice Herndon and Mrs. Sidney Mank(tie).
