Buffalo for a future draft choice, one in a later round than he was chosen in 1981.
It is not “Back to Buffalo” for Kubin, the cry that used to be raised against Washington Senator rookies who performed badly after being brought up from the Buffalo farm team, in the days of Washington baseball. It is “on to Buffalo” for Larry Kubin.
He is, he says, “ready to begin his destiny" in Buffalo, a more positive attitude than that expressed recently by the President of the United States, who was quoted as saying that we, as Americans, were going “to recapture our destiny,” (provided we re-elect him).
Kubin added the technical information that he truly thinks he was made a little better for the 3-4 defense, used by Buffalo, rather than the 4-3 defense used by Washington, or is it the other way around?
All of these incidental comments were concluded by Kubin’s closing remarks, moving and philosophical: “My heart,” he said, “is ready to move on.”
It is a good heart and body that Buffalo has added to its team.
