James Allen White was sentenced to serve two years in the Rappahannock County Jail for stealing more than $7,700 in coins.
White was first sentenced to serve five years in the state penitentiary, but that was reduced in Rappahannock Circuit Court Monday.
White, who pleaded guilty to the grand larceny charge, has spent the past six months in Rappahannock County Jail.
His attorney, Doug Baumgardner, summoned adult probation officer Dean Hahn, County Sheriff John Henry Woodward and Rappahannock Correctional Officer Curtis Crawford to discuss White’s conduct in jail.
Hahn said that White was cooperative and that he was a model prisoner. Hahn had recommended incarceration, but he had no objection to White serving
