Fauquier offers
tennis lessons
Beginner and advanced beginner tennis lessons will be offered starting Sept. 23 and continuing Monday and Wednesday evenings for five weeks.
Registration for the classes is set at $15 and each participant will be require to furnish their own racquet and new can of tennis balls.
The classes will be held at the Warrenton Junior High School and are sponsored by the Fauquier County Department of Parks and Recreation.
A Sept. 18 registration deadline has been set.
More information may be obtained by calling the department at 349-1910 or by visiting the office at 62 Culpeper Street, Monday through Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Other department activities include a visit to historic Annapolis on Sept. 28.
A chartered bus will leave Fauquier County High School at 7 a.m. and return at about 9 p.m. Total cost for the bus ride and tour of the town will be $13 per person.
A Sept. 24 registration deadline has been set.
The department is also attempting to start a softball league this fall at Benner Field in Warrenton.
Two divisions, one on Mondays and Wednesday, and one on Tuesdays and Thursdays, are sought.
