That’s right. Nothing about thunderbolts from heaven or any other traumatic experiences. The longer I live, and the more I observe God’s working in my own life and the lives of others, the more convinced I am that the traumatic experience, while possible, is the exception and not the rule. God’s normal way of working in our lives is to bring us into situations in which we are expected to apply the principles of his Word. This is exactly what we are told in Psalm 119:11, 105. His Word is indeed a light unto our paths, and shows us the way step by step through our circumstances.

If you asked me what God’s will is for my life! could answer you only in terms of his general will. I don’t know what He wants me to do next year, next month, or even next week for certain. But I know what he wants me to do now, and by his grace I will do it. This “now” will lead to the next “now”, and I will find at the end of this life that if I have done God’s will for each of my “nows”, then I have done God’s will for my life.
