Miss Sarah Hampton Massie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Fletcher Massie of Rappahannock County, became the bride of John Marshall Cheatwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hunt Cheatwood of Warrenton, on Saturday, June 29.
The ceremony took place at 4 o’clock on the lawn at Meadow Grove, home of the bride’s parents. Rev. Clarence William Trenum officiated and the traditional wedding music was played by Curletto of Washington.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white off-the-shoulder gown fashioned with a bodice of Alencon lace and seed pearls and an organza skirt edged with lace which extended into a sweeping chapel train.
Her fingertip veil of appliqued silk illusion fell from a pearl-encrusted Camelot cap. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses, mini carnations and daisies with baby’s breath.
