There will be seven days of steeplechase racing in the Old Dominion this year — a veritable cornucopia of color and excitement for ’chasing fans.
From the middle of September to the early weeks in November, Virginians can enjoy the pleasures of tailgating and the excitement of steeplechasing almost every weekend this fall.
Purses are up significantly at several Virginia race meets this year. This is a very positive sign as it shows the sport’s popularity is growing and being recognized by sponsors who are willing to put money into the it.
