The Rappahannock County High School crow country teams swept a tri-meet to open their seasons Sept. 11 by defeating teams from Luray and Page County.

The Rappahannock girls* team flooded the top four spots, including placing runners in the top two.

The Panthers won the girls’ division 27, to Luray*s 48 and Page County’s 58.

Kathy Dodson won her division by covering the 2.7-mile course over rolling hills and wooded areas in 22:06, seven seconds ahead of teammate Karen Ludwick who finished in 22:12.

This is the first year girls will compete for district, regional and state titles.

Also for Rappahannock, Bonnie' Grimsley placed fourth in 22:41. Denise Eidson finished eighth in
