A herd of beef cattle also is kept at Sunnybank and all the hay and straw needed for the animals comes from the land. Speedy and his mother and younger brother Roger all work on the farm throughout the year.
In the future Speedy hopes to enlarge and modernize the existing bam and possibly build a training track on the farm. But, for now he and his mother make do with the well-drained rolling paddocks, jump courses and miles of trails on the farm to train their horses.
Several young riders also work with Speedy and his mother at Sunnybank. Those helpers are not just riders but are also expected to groom, feed and tack the horses and to help keep the bam and its inhabitants clean.
