Boy Scouts
To Burn Flags
As a public service, members of Boy Scout Troop 36 in Washington will bum tom, tattered, and permanently-soiled American flags during a patriotic and respectful cremation ceremony on Flag Day, June 14.
The ceremony will be held on the Washington Fire Hall grounds beginning at 7 p.m. Anyone possessing flags which should be retired may bring their flags to the ceremony or mail them to: Boy Scout Troop 36, 636 Mount Salem Avenue, P.O. Box 124, Washington, Va. 22727.
The proper manner for disposing of American flags is by burial or burning. Burning is the preferred method.
