A bear was hit by a 1986 Subaru driven by Bradley A. Gillies, 42, of Rochelle, Va., last Friday morning, but the bear got away!
State Trooper Sean Knick investigated the 7 a.m. accident which took place at Route 231, .3 mile south of Route 707, near the southern end of the county. Mr. Gillies’s car had $3,500 damage but he was not injured.
Nearly $19,000 damage was done to vehicles and a light pole stemming from an accident in Flint Hill last Saturday morning.
