Benefit Carden Party Planned A garden party concert to benefit the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community will be held on Saturday, May 11. Cocktails and light buffet will be served from 5 until 6:30 p.m. with a concert by Tom Espinola and Lorraine Duisit from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Coffee and dessert will also be served. There is a $25 per person charge. The event will be held courtesy of Col. and Mrs. Stewart Willis at their home, Mount Prospect Farm. Rain date is set for Saturday, May 18. May Day Celebration Set The public is invited to the traditional May Day Celebration at Spring Mountain School from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 3. Along with the May Pole Dance, there will be rides, games, food, entertainment and crafts. Artists and craftsmen interested in selling their wares can call the school at 675-1458.

Spring Workshop Series Set The IRIS Centre for Shamanic Studies will present its Spring workshop series at the Centre, 325-B Middle Street in Washington. “Sacred Circles: A Ritual Art-making Workshop for Women” with Kathleen Oettinger, ritual artist and Denise Horton, Ph.D from 7-9 p.m. on May 17 and from 10-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. Other workshops will be held on June 1, June 14 and June 15. The fee for full-day workshops is $95; half-day workshops are $45. Friday evening slide-lectures are $5.
