Mr. Johnson suggested the WSA ask its employees to cut the connection from the cidery’s tank to the WSA tank. “We’re already under a restraining order to get rid of inflow and infiltration wherever it exists, and we do know it exists there,” he said.
“We also know the effluent messes up our plant,” Chairman Eugene Leggett said.
However, the WSA members agreed to wait to see if DEQ will take care of the problem for them.
They considered a letter from Peter Luke saying tljpt John Shipman challenges his sewer biHsi Mr. Shipman’s bill is more than three years in arrears, and the WSA has asked Mr. Luke to proceed with a forced sale of the property.
Mr. Johnson said he had told Mr. Shipman that he should bring any request for a lower rate to the members, and he has not done so. “He wasn’t charged extra when he had a restaurant and a cookie factory in there,” he said. He also said Mr. Shipman had refused to pick up certified letters sent to him about his bill. “He was very arrogant,” Mr. Johnson said.
WSA members asked Mr. Johnson to go over the history of Mr. Shipman’s account with Mr. Luke. They agreed they are not prepared to accept less than the full amount of the bill.
