The Charlottesville and Ashlanc Districts of the United Methodise Church are sponsoring Volunteers ir Mission to work in Mexico. The Mission Team will travel to Mexico City and then on to Puebla, Ciudad Serdan, and Ahuatapec (pronounced A-wa-ta-peck). The team will depart Dulles International Airport on July 11, 1996, and return on July 23, 1996.
The team will be divided into three groups, each going to a location. In Ahuatapec a group will begin construction of a parsonage for a church that was recently built by other mission teams. Ahuatapec is a small rural town populated by migrant farm workers. In Ciudad Serdan a group will repair bathrooms and stables at an orphanage for children. In Puebla, the most modem city of the three, a group will repair dormitories for future volunteer mission teams.
Seven members of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship from the Amissville United Methodist Church, Amissville will join the Mission Team to Mexico. The team will include Alan Brown from Flint Hill in Rappahannock County, who will serve as team leader, Gloria Deal and her son Brandon, Natalie Dunn, Jessica Harrup, and Brock Hodgson, all from Culpeper County, rhis goodwill mission will give the young people an opportunity to trav:1 abroad, exercise he language skills
