To the Editor:
I attended Monday night’s hearing on the school budget and was pleased to find such great support for the budget — and I think for increasing the budget — among students, parents, teachers, administrators and a crosssection of Rappahannock County citizens.
Students were particularly articulate in expressing their appreciation of the education they are receiving in our public schools, and landwoners without children were willing to pay more taxes to support our schools, our teachers, our children, our future.
As a life-long supporter of public education, 22-year resident of Rappahannock County, mother of two public school teachers, and now grandmother of a kindergartener and a high schooler in our county, I applaud all of you for your eloquent support.
