But Mr. Harris added that he hopes next year’s cleanup sees even greater participation, so that no trash is left strewn about the countryside. He envisions a system where someone in each section of the coynty offers to be “cleanup coordinator” and rallies neighbors to join the effort.
“Of course, if we could find a way to raise people’s consciousness about not throwing trash on the ground, we wouldn’t have to do any cleanup at all,” he said. “Getting people to love, appreciate and cherish our beautiful county is my ultimate goal.”
The cleanup of the Rappahannock County Park was also a success, with nine people working several hours to fill 20 bags.
