May 31 through June 1 people from Rappahannock, Fauquier and Culpeper counties will participate in the national Cancer Society’s Annual Relay for Life.
This 24-hour event is held each year at the Airlie Conference Center in Warrenton.
Prior to the 31 st, participants form teams of 8-12 people and find sponsors. Each team member attempts to raise $100.
They then go around the track in shifts from 6 p.m. Friday night until 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
“To increase the number of teams from last year, that was our big goal,” said Jane Johnson, Director of the National Cancer Society.
