The Rappahannock Lions annual auction, a community event that is good for the community, will begin at 6 p.m. on May 11 at the Washington Fire Hall.
The Lions’ auction is a notable event in several ways. First, it lets you put to good use things you don’t use but are too good to throw away. We all have things like that: a television the kids left behind, perhaps, or grandma’s china cabinet that doesn’t fit in the dining room. Donate them to the Lion’s auction and feel good about it! Second, ii also gives you a chance to get a bargain: a comfortable chair for the guest bedroom or the tool you really want but won’t buy at new prices. Come to the auction and buy it! Third, the auction is an occasion to get together with your friends and neighbors, have a bite to eat and have fun. Come and watch our. very own, and very good, auctioneer Bill Payne work the crowd. He makes it a fun evening for all involved.
Just about anything is sold at the auction except food, clothing, mattresses, and large appliances. The Lions do ask that donations be clean and in working order. Every recent
