Child Screenings Planned

There will be a free child screening from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 4, in Culpeper and May 11 in Warrenton. The screening is for children in the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock.

The Culpeper screening will be held at Pearl Sample Elementary School. The Warrenton screening will be held at Central Elementary School. Qualified professionals will screen each for Hearing, Vision, Physical and Mental Development.

The event is sponsored by the Rappahannock-Rapidan Early Intervention Interagency Coordinating Council in cooperation with the public school systems of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and , Rappahannock Counties. To request special accomdafions or further information call 1-800-410-1476

Play at Wakefield

The hilarious comedy play “The Foreigner,” by Larry Shue will be performed by the Wakefield Country Day School Drama Club on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4. Curtain time is 8 p.m. If you missed this hit show during its recent runs on Broadway and in Washington, D.C. theaters, join the audiences at the School for an evening of rollicking comedy. Tickets may be purchased at the door, adults pay $3, children’s tickets are $1.

Sperryville Plans Carnival

Members of the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor their annual carnival this year, May 29, 30, 31 and June 1. Special rates will apply for the ridqs on Wednesday evening, a parade will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday and grand prizes will be awarded on Saturday evening.

Prizes will include the grand prize of $500, first, second and third « prizes of $100 each will be awarded to a lucky winner. All members of the community and county residents are urged to support the fire department in their endeavors. There will be food, games and fun for the entire family.

Yard Sale, Car Wash Planned

The Child Care and Learning Center will sponsor a yard sale and a car wash from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. The car wash will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. There will be face painting and a raffle. Also lunch and sodas will be available. All donations are welcomed.

Pot Luck, Fun Time Planned

.Mothers and kids are invited to come out to the Rappahannock Park at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7 for a pot luck lunch, a fun time, and a chance to exchange ideas about a Mothers’ Day Out program and a book discussion group for mothers. RCHS Athletic Banquet

On May 29 at 6 p.m. the Rappahannock High School Athletic Department will hold its annual Athletic Banquet in the RCHS Commons Area and Gymnasium.

Tickets will go on sale Monday, May 13 and can be purchased in the office at the high school. All tickets must be purchased in advance.
