and then stole second base. Tommy singled and stole second base. With runners on second and third base, Jon Digges doubled off of the left field fence sending Jeff and Tommy across the plate for runs six and seven. Willie coasted through the seventh inning sealing the win.

Last Thursday the Panthers met Page County at Page., The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top half of the first inning. Seniors Jon Butler and Jason Brown had the two lonely Panther hits. Jon Butler roped a single in the first inning driving in Jeff Atkins and Jason Brown who had reached base on a walk and hit by the pitcher. The Panthers’ bats were idle through the next three innings as Page collected 12 hits and scored 17 runs.

“It was an awful outing,” said Coach Donn Hackney. “Jon Digges never got into his pitching rhythm and Page batters let him know that.”

“We’re still improving. We’ve got some important games ahead of us, and I expect to win every one of them. We have a great group of guys who are coming together as a team. Defensively we’ve gotten stronger. I can say with confidence, don’t count us out.”
