Melissa Delcour (English teacher) was a candidate for homecoming queen all four years of her high school career in rural Missouri. There were two homecoming dances at her school, one for football, and one for basketball. Delcour noted that, “Homecoming was a community event. Before the dance, we had a pageant for all queen candidates.” She was only one of four females in her graduating class. There were just 12 students in that graduating class.

Kelly Settle (bookkeeper) graduated from Rappahannock County High School before there was a homecoming dance.
