2006, on Rollins Ford Road. The victim said the men were wearing masks made from panty hose and one of them had a pistol. Several other people were visiting the woman’s home at the time and they fled when the robbers entered the house.
Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Connie Smith investigated the incident and sent a description of the perpetrator’s vehicle to sheriff’s offices in surrounding counties. On Monday, a member of the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office called the RCSO to say they had the suspect in custody.
Steven John Chant, 30, of Jefiersonton, was arrested and charged with four felony counts. He is being held in the Culpeper County Jail and is awaiting additional charges from the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals.
The other suspect in the case is still at large.
