Old Time Music Jam
Take down your fidcfle and pick up your bow. Friends of Old Time Music have started an informal jam session on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall. Old time music is sometimes called Traditional or Appalachian Folk music that was played by mountain families. Players with an interest are welcome. Fall Music Lessons
The lesson program is expanding this year with a larger array of lessons - for both beginners and intermediates - school children and adults - through the Music Lesson Program. Shenandoah Conservatory students and graduates will teach: Flute, Sax, Clarinet, Trumpet, Percussion, French Horn, Low Brass (tuba, trombone, baritone) and Guitar (taught by Anders Drew). Last year, we ran about 65 lessons each week. We'd also like to add voice lessons this year. To sign up for lessons or for more information, contact Kathryn Treanor at 540 878-6202 or at kancfotreanor@gmail.com. Our wonderful Piano teacher, Krista Hale, has a few openings, so please contact her directly at 540 522-7023.
