Rappahannock County Administrator John McCarthy presented the Board of Supervisors on Monday with a proposal from the Piedmont Environmental Council to cooperatively hold a conservation easement fin1 a properly at 820 ET. Valley Road.
The 55-acre property owned by John F. and Delma A. Bagley fronts a 1.5mile stretch of the Hazel River and sits between two other properties already in easement.
Because of a backlog of easement requests at the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, the foundation is focusing on easements of greater than 100 acres. That situation led the board to discuss co-holding smaller, important easements with PEC at its September meeting.
