Rappahannocks fifth, eighth and eleventh graders took the first of the state’s tests on the new Standards of Learning (SOL’s) last week. They took tests on writing, both a multiple choice section and a writing sample based on a prompt. The writing tests were given early because they will take the longest to grade.
Towards the end of April students in both schools will be taking a lot more of the new SOL tests. As required by the state, early this year the schools sent booklets home to the parents of the students in school. These booklets list all of the new SOL’s for each grade.
