rvappanannocK. caemeniary School’s principal, Mrs. Raye Tupper, and her assistant principal, Mr. Richard Smith, and the teachers and office staff at both schools, all of whose names I cannot recall — please forgive, for the assistance and courtesies I enjoyed during my time at both schools. They were wonderful, and more importantly, so were the young people.
Three: Further regarding my talks at the schools and the article about the same, (Rappahannock News, March 4), which should stand on its own, I do have a couple of comments for clarification: I would like to point out that at the beginning of each session I made it clear that I use the terms “people of color,” “Negro,” and “Black people” interchangeably because of the historical significance of these terms, rather than any preference, or any attempt at being politically correct. It is, in my view, far more important to be historically correct.
