The hundred and second state conference of the Virginia National Society Daughters American Revolution will be held in the Richmond Marriott Hotel on March 20-22.
Over 700 daughters will attend from every area of Virginia. Mrs. Melvin F. Carson will serve as the local conference chairman. She is a member of the William Byrd Chapter, and will be the new Director of District II.
The Virginia State Regent, Mrs Stephen R. Hunter, completing her three year term, will reside over the entire conference activities.
She has implemented many successful projects during her term: a bronze statue of George Mason was erected at George Mason University in northern Virginia and the Virginia Daughters, under her leadership have rallied round the on-going project to work for and contribute to the restoration of Ferry Farm, the boyhood home of George Washington. She is a candidate for the office of Vice President General, NSDAR at the hundred and seventh Continental Congress in Washington, D.C. April 1998. Mrs. Hunter has 29 years of dedicated membership to DAR.
It will be a great honor for Virginia Daughters to welcome Mrs. Charles K. Kemper, the President General of the National Society, with headquarters in Washington, D.C. to the conference. She resides in Sacramento, Calif.; she, too, will complete her three year
