In 1999, Warrenton Garden Club will again host the Historic Garden Week tour.
Through other fundraising efforts, the Warrenton Garden Club provides scholarships for local youngsters to attend state nature camp, maintains numerous landscaping projects in Warrenton including two prominent gardens on the Warrenton Bypass, presents awards to Warrenton residents and businesses efforts for community beautification, and sponsors a host of other events.
At the same time, generous gifts of its members have established scholarship opportunities such as the National Tropical Botany Scholarship Fund, a gift of Mrs. Russell M. Arundel.
Some projects take on major preservation significance. For several years, members of the Fauquier-Loudoun Garden Club, which was established in 1915, have been restoring Goose Creek Bridge, the only four-span stone bridge remaining in Virginia.
