Sperryville resident John Kiser, inspired by the efforts of some members of the community, did an unprecedented thing recently. He donated $10,000 to be used to generate interest and work toward a Trash Free Rappahannock.
Kiser, along with Hunt Harris of the Ragged Mountain Resource Center, Rae Ross of Mountainside Market and Washington attorney Doug Baumgardner make up the TFR Committee. They are organizing a month-long “beat the clock” competition which they plan to make an annual event. This first one begins March 21 and ends April 18.
