Supervisors meet
Rappahannock County Supervisors are scheduled to hold their regularly monthly meeting Monday, a meeting that appears to be routine but one that could easily develop into anything but ordinary.
On the preliminary agenda are matters of the routine: An update on the county’s continuing attempt to settle on an adequate insurance policy; a report from Wayne Cilimberg, executive director of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District; a citizen’s objection to the proposed site of the animal shelter near the Scrabble School.
Also scheduled is a public hearing to discuss the state highway department proposal, or sixyear plan, for local roads.
However, it is possible Supervisors maybe asked to review the 1985 proposed zoning ordinance which was reviewed in closed session by the Rappahannock Planning Commission. That had not been placed on the agenda as of early this week.
Supervisors meet in the county courthouse, Washington, at 10 a.m.

When winter comes along — and it’s not very far away — and snowfall places the opening of school that day in doubt, an announcement to cancel school for that day will be made on any one of the radio or television stations listed below.
If no announcement is made, students, parents and teachers are expected to report to school at normal hours. Winning decorations
Cheryl and Buddy Brown won the house decorating contest held in conjunction with last weekend’s Sperryville Apple Harvest Festival, it was announced this week.
The Browns, who live on Va. 600, win the $50 prize awarded by the Sperryville Business Council.
