To help out on Election Day, local Electoral Boards appoint election officers. The officers conduct the election at their respective polling places or precincts and certify the results.

To become a candidate, one must file his intentions with election officials and independent candidates must also provide a petition signed by a certain percentage of the qualified voters from the area they would represent.
