“One of the bikers started the race as a human and finished as a gorilla,” said Strange. “Somewhere along the line, Charles McClaugherty stopped and put on a gorilla costume to finish in.”
Strange said McClaugherty was visiting a friend, Reg Williams, in the county.
“It was an excellent year with perfect weather, and that’s important since the run is our biggest fiind raiser,” Strange said. “It’s also a lot of work.”
